With IBM, Clients Can Modernize VMware Workloads Quickly

IBM has unveiled IBM Cloud for VMware as a Service, an amalgamation of its hybrid cloud strategy and VMware's abilities, helping global clients and partners transition their workloads and experience time savings in a hybrid cloud.

In addition to IBM's 20-year partnership with VMware, the company has launched a new, IBM-managed, hybrid cloud solution designed to accelerate enterprises' adoption of hybrid cloud.

IBM Cloud's VP of product management and strategy, Rohit Badlaney, said: "Building off news of our growing partnership earlier this year, this is a crucial stepping stone for both companies as we work toward a shared goal of helping global clients and partners modernize."

With this cooperation, IBM and VMware can better help some of the world's most influential companies. The value brought is different for each company but differentiated depending on the company's situation:

Security

As part of the IBM Cloud and VMware's software stack, IBM offers secure-to-the-core architecture that integrates confidential computing capabilities across multiple environments, ensuring clients' data is protected across multiple platforms.

Performance

The new service is designed to lower the complexity and risk of migrating and modernizing mission-critical workloads by providing clients with choices.

In regulated industries such as financial services, healthcare, and the public sector, it will help manage the performance needs of applications and data.

Compliance

Using IBM Cloud for VMware as a Service, clients can implement specific industry controls into their cloud experience. This will help them mitigate risk related to third- and fourth-party issues by utilizing industry-specific compliance control already found in IBM Cloud.

"IBM and VMware continue strengthening our partnership that has helped clients realize their technology goals over the past 20 years."

"We previously announced that IBM Consulting is a Global Systems Integrator (GSI) for VMware and provides our clients with a suite of services to help clients migrate, modernize and manage their most important workloads across hybrid, multi-cloud environments. This is critical for clients looking for the deep skills and expertise required to help transform their business." Said Bradley.
