DEAC is building a solar-powered data center in Latvia

Latvian data center operator DEAC, one of the larger independent data center operators in Northern Europe, is building a new data center. This facility will be one of the most sustainable in the region. Riga DC3 will serve international companies that need an outsourcing center, data back-office, or IT function consolidation in Northern Europe.

The newly built data center will have a capacity of up to 1000 server racks, ensuring a 99.98% minimum level of service availability. The data center will have a 10 MW capacity and be Tier III certified. DEAC will use on-site solar panels to ensure the facility is entirely powered by renewable energy, and MY Neste Diesel will provide backup power.

Together with the data center operator DLC, DEAC offers two primary locations in Riga and Vilnius. The company is quickly becoming one of the Baltics' major data center network.

Since opening business on 1999 DEAC has built a number of data centers. The company now operates three data centers in Riga, one in Stockholm, and additional facilities in Frankfurt, Amsterdam, London and Kyiv.
