Gmail Has a New Feature That Shows You the Progress of Your Packages

Google recently announced a new feature in Gmail that will show you when your package is arriving to you based on an email receipt from the company that shipped it to you. The quality is currently rolling out, but if you don't have it yet, try updating your Gmail app and give it another shot.

The latest update includes the Package tracking notification, which lets users know when their packages have been delivered. All you need to do is click on the icon next to the sender's name, and you will be able to see the progress of your shipment.

It is also updated in real-time, so it doesn't matter if you are home or out; it'll tell you when your package arrives at your doorstep.

Having your orders easily accessible without sifting through your messages should be convenient ahead of the busy holiday shopping season.

You will see a small green indicator in your inbox when a package has been shipped and when it is expected to arrive. If you tap the email, you will see more information, like a link to track the package.

Additionally, the feature will tell you the status of your package by showing labels like "arriving tomorrow" or "delivered today." It will also let you know if there is a delay.

The feature is not enabled by default. However, Google will provide a pop-up that lets you enable it. Notifications can be turned off in settings at any time.
