SpaceDC announces plans to build the Philippines' largest data center

Thanks to an investment by SpaceDC, the Philippines' data center market is getting a big boost. The Singapore-based company is building the largest data center in the Philippines to date. MNL1 will deliver 72MW of critical power. PUE is planned at 1.3.

Three four-story buildings

Featuring 43,000m2 of space over three four-story buildings, MNL1 is the largest hyperscale data center campus in the Philippines. SpaceDC will use an internally developed design that accommodates racks of up to 15kW over 48 x 1,500kW data halls before additional cooling is required.

SpaceDC and JLL are building MNL1 in Cainta, part of Greater Manila. The data center will run entirely on renewable energy - wind and geothermal - and is scheduled to open in 2022.

MNL1 will have its own internet exchange and diverse connectivity, including local and international fibre access, multiple MMRs, and SDN. There will be direct access available to cloud providers such as AWS, Alibaba, and Azure, as well as direct cloud access and connectivity to over 400 data centers.
