If the reported deal for New York-based Brookfield Asset Management to buy France-based data center operator Data4 goes through, it will extend Brookfield's global footprint. The company already controls data centers in India, Latin America, and Anzac, own around 50 data centers.
Data4 operates 29 centers throughout France, Italy, Spain, Luxembourg and Poland, while developing a new, massive center in Germany that is said to be scaled to 180MW. The acquisition talks have floated a purchase price in the neighborhood of $4 billion.
