Karl Rose is the EMEA Data Centre Projects Manager at Bloomberg L.P. His main role currently revolves around data center migrations/builds including site selection, migration, decommission. Also he is responsible for standards, reporting, budgeting and general day to day running of the 60+ data centers in the region.
Karl has worked in data center roles for over 25 years with his first full time role being a mainframe hardware planner for British Telecommunications. Over a short space of time this led to the role encompassing the day to day running of the data center itself. His career has then grown across a few sites to the current regional role managing 60+ data centers in Europe, Middle East, Africa and India.
Over the past 8 years Karl has been working on the migration of 19 legacy data center spaces to new and improved facilities, 16 new space builds and decommission of 13 surplus locations. Alongside this Karl has worked as part of a global team to improve/standardize the way the business manages its data center spaces, reporting and budgets.
